Social Butterfly

Real talk. I love what I do.

No, I didn’t get paid to say that. I mean, I do get paid (this is my job) but I don’t get a bonus for telling people how much I love my colleagues, clients and other aspects of my job. However, that would be pretty sweet. Maybe I’ll talk to my boss about that - kidding.

So, who am I? I’m Ashleigh, the communications manager at Schoolhaus and you won’t find a shortage of personality with me.

I graduated from the University of Central Florida – GO KNIGHTS! – with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations and a minor in Hospitality and Tourism. A few years later, I decided to go back to school to earn a Master of Arts in Mass Communication (MAMC) with a specialization in Social Media from the University of Florida. You could call me a social media specialist, or nerd, or both.

Going into college, like most freshmen, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I declared a business major, then quickly realized that wasn’t for me. A year or so later, I found out about the Advertising and Public Relations program at UCF. I applied with one of my best friends, got in and that was that. I literally (cue Chris Traeger’s voice) found where I belonged.

Fast forward six years and here I am. At a start-up agency, working alongside amazing people doing the work that I love. If you need media relations, social media, content creation or anything communications-related, I’m your person. I’ve worked with a variety of clients in different industries including hospitality and tourism, food and beverage, non-profit, beauty and health, and more.

When I’m not passionately advocating for and working with my clients, you’ll find me hanging out with my fiancé and our Maine Coon rescue cat, Maddie (Instagram handle: @MaddieOst) as we’re probably watching something on Hulu. Or at the beach. Without the cat. She’s not really into the whole “water” thing.

Now, please excuse me while I go check my client’s Facebook account.
